On May 11, 71 young people graduated from the training process “Youth Training Schools for Employability”, aimed at people between 15 and 35 years of age, from the municipalities of Tamanique, Chiltiupan and La Libertad in El Salvador, within the framework of the project "Youth for La Libertad".

The event was attended by the mayors Adilio Ortiz of the Port of La Libertad, Ever Salinas, Municipal Mayor of Tamanique and Tito Escobar, Municipal Mayor of Chiltiupan, Guadalupe Esquivel, President of FECORACEN and Cooperation Agencies.

During the training period, five working days were used where different topics were addressed such as skills for work, communication content, labor rights and hospitality and tourism, prioritizing young women in green jobs with skills of conservation of natural resources, and the environment, with the aim of promoting their link to the labor market, avoiding exclusion or discrimination by any context and ensuring that the youth of these territories reaffirm themselves as agents of peace and social transformation.

The training was developed by the Federation of Cooperatives of Agrarian Reform of the Central Region, FECORACEN. The “Youth for La Libertad” project is implemented with the support of the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, through UNFPA, ILO and UNDP agencies.

Additionally, an APP is being developed that will specifically strengthen the search for jobs and human talent in these areas, which is expected to start operating from next July.

We congratulate the youth who are increasingly involved in learning and strengthening skills for assertive decision-making and generating positive changes in their communities for present and future generations.
